Best MBA Ranking Methodology

 

Online mba network conducted the survey of worldwide ranking of best business schools and MBA programs based on their annual performance. The business schools were ranked based on

  • Objective data such as MBA program return on investment ROI (what does it cost compared to the average MBA salary increase) and

  • Subjective data such as the satisfaction scores and perceived brand of key stakeholders including industry, recruiters, students and faculty.

The survey was open to all business schools at network websites, the questionnaire designed for the survey could be taken online. 

 

In 2006 & 2007 an invitation was also sent to 500 business schools to participate. In all 111 of them responded. The satisfaction survey of was conducted online more than 2891 students, alumni, recruiters and professionals submitted the form.

 

Information listed institutes were also obtained from secondary sources available online and in other publications.

 

The validation exercise was conducted by a team cross-checking the data by researching or asking for necessary documents like annual report etc. 

 

The final scores were obtained by evaluating each business school MBA programs against the following 15 broad parameters describing satisfaction survey.

  1. MBA ROI (Cost/Salary Increase)

  2. MBA program design (subject matter topics, level, and work related)

  3. MBA course material quality

  4. School learning resources (Knowledge Infrastructure and facilities)

  5. Faculty teaching quality (thought leadership, publications, Intellectual capital & teacher performance)

  6. MBA career support

  7. Managerial skills development

  8. Mentoring and coaching support

  9. MBA brand value

  10. School professional networking value

  11. School industry relations

  12. School international relations

  13. The value of overall learning experience

  14. Any particular positive experience

  15. Any particular negative experience

All criteria were given equal weight

 

The aggregate score of the year long exercise was taken to asses a institute. The students and faculty were also asked to rank top business school MBA programs in the country and also in their state. These results and other findings are available on this website
